...In Jesus name, Amen

As believers, most of us end our prayers with "in Jesus' name, Amen."  Why do we do this? Because that is what we have read in the Bible and have been taught to do, right?

Three times in John chapters 14 - 16, Jesus tells us to ask in His name.  In chapter 16, Jesus said, "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last. Then, the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name."

When you go in someone's name or in their stead, you go in their character - representing who they are. When we pray in the name of Jesus, we are representing the very character of Jesus in full realization of who He is.

Don't let this prayer ending become just a habit. Recognize the power in the name of Jesus. Spend time reading God's Word, searching for verses that pertain to the things you are asking of Him. Then, pray in the name of Jesus, believing that He will hear and answer your prayers.

Col 3:17
Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Be Blessed,
Dawn
